Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib is a hidden gem in Cannaught Place. People usually go Gurudwara Bangla Sahib but Rakabganj sahib is also very beautiful, Serene and well maintained. It's located in a premier location, Rashtrapati bhawan is just few minutes from gurudwara. Gurudwara has very beautiful garden, Guru Arjan dev niwas for it's guests and a library. View in evening is spectacular. You can go offer your prayings and have a peaceful nice time with family and friends.

visited here Jan Feb. It is near gurudwara bangla sahib. On that day, crowd at bangla sahib. So we decided to go here. It was good at night. Parking facility is also available.

Neat and clean and well maintained and revered Gurudwara of Delhi. Located centrally, many VIPs also pay their respects to this Gurudwara. Huge Hall where Langar is served. Extremely calm and pious environment awaits you. Must visit if you are in Delhi.

Gurudwara Rakaj Ganj Sahib located near Parliament house in New Delhi is a historic Gurudwara that marks the place where the 9th Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji was cremated. This Gurudwara is located pretty close to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib ji, another important Gurudwara for the Sikh community. The SPGC office is located in the same complex. There are quite a few religious events, functions etc that are held here. The Gurudwara complex also has the facility of conducting marriage ceremony in the large halls located here ... There is ample parking space & one can spend some quality time away from the daily chores & hustle bustle of city life ... and Thank 'Wahe Guru' for everything we have ....

Rakab Ganj Gurudwara is also used for weddings they have a separate space for wedding and it was the first time I went there. Amazing Place it is. Almost all the Gurudwaras in New Delhi are beautiful, For serenity and peace I think one should visit. Rakab Ganj Gurudwara is centrally located and can be easily approached via Delhi Metro.

Gurudwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib is a historic Gurudwara near Parliament House and near Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib. It was built in 1783, after Sikh Military Leader Baghel Singh captured Delhi in 1783 which led to the construction of this historic Gurudwara. This is dedicated to the Ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

its dates back to when Delhi was just small settlements and is now one of the most holy and sacred Gurudwaras in Delhi, this is a place where the sikh communities biggest events like the birth anniversary processions either start from or end at and therefore it hold great importance for all of Sikh community
a very peacefull place and it is such a great feeling to sit there and listen to what the raagi's play in the honor of god.
the complex also houses one of the biggest halls where marriage and other functions can be facilitated as the Holy book is not allowed to be carried to outside party places where liquor or non veg food is served .
being there is a divine experience

We have been visiting this gurudwara for ages now and coming from a Sikh family myself, every visit holds a special place in my heart. The interiors are beautiful and thankfully not ostentatious. There is ample seating space and chairs/ low stools are also placed for those uncomfortable sitting o the floor. It's imperative to be dressed modestly (preferably no skirts/ dresses for women) and a scarf/ head cover is mandatory. This gurudwara has it's own place in history eventhough it's not that visited compared to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.
My review today is about the haphazard and undisciplined parking space provided within the premises. The parking is free and is free-for-all!! There is no parking attendant to guide the cars in slots. It's mayhem especially on weekends and wedding days. Once you park, there is no guarantee how much time it will take to retrieve your car!! Its that bad!! Everybody parks zigzag and just leaves!!
My next major grudge point is the awful experience (and I am saying this with a very heavy heart) we had at the langar few days back. It was with lots of excitement that we (couple and teenage child) visited the gurudwara and had pre-decided to partake the langar (community kitchen) there. Having had pleasant experiences at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, our expectations from here were similar.
The langar hall is located towards the rear of the main Gurudwara, and since the main hall door wasn't open, we were directed to enter via the rear entry which went through the kitchen area. The floor had water puddles all over and galore flies could be seen around. We entered the hall with heavy feet and crossed fingers and were guided to a room which was catering to langar at that hour (afternoon). I was appalled to see the area! There were approx. 10 people already eating and while few were sitting on the floor, some were on the carpet. We couldn't decide which was cleaner to sit on as both the places were pathetically dirty. Split food and unclean carpet is what greeted us. Having decided to sit on the carpet, we were served langar by small boys. There was dal, pickle and rotis. While I have no problems with the simple fare, the quality was so bad that the dal was like brown insipid looking water and the rotis were either burnt or uncooked! There was no provision of disposable spoons and the pickle was being served with hands. Yuck!!! The person incharge of the langar in the room was a dirtily dressed man in a white kurta-pyjama which had food stains all over!! His hands were smudged with pickle and his feet were so dirty with overgrown dirt-filled nails that I felt like throwing up everytime he passed by!!
Since we respected the sanctity of the place where we were, we took little food and finished it but all the while I was feeling queasy as this is definitely not what I associated with langar at this gurudwara!! And to top it, by evening I had a very bad tummy upset!!
I wouldn't advise anybody to eat here...it's better to spend money and eat at a hygienic place than suffer the anxiety pangs like we did!! I just hope that the funds coming into the gurudwara are well-utilised here as well and something is done.

The 9th Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed under the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb & Gurudwara sisgunj was built in his memory at Chadni chowk.But a brave devotee under great risk brought the martyred Guru`s severed head to his house in Rikabgunj & burnt the whole house following the Sikh tradition of cremating the dead body.Later Gurudwara Rikabgunj was built in the same place.
It is very close to the other famous Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.I liked the orderly way the devotees come to pray & the neat clean surroundings.Loved the food & prasad served in the community kitchen(Langar).Worth a visit.

Although all gurudwaras are beautiflu but this is the one which is standing tall from the tme it was constructed. Will give the feel of Delhi's Past.
