The Gandhi smriti is the ashram where Gandhi lived the last few months of his life... he was assassinated in the garden of the ashram. The smriti includes a number of displays about Gandhi, a bookstore, some shops selling khadi cloth, etc. It is a lovely peaceful place in Delhi.

Here you can see the rooms where Gandhi stayed in New Delhi, fittingly austere, and follow red sandstone replicas of his footsteps across his garden where he went to pray but instead met his assassin. There are interesting details of his life in a small museum on the site.

This was the place Gandhi lived, before he was killed. The pathway of his final steps is marked. There is also a museum describing the India Independence movement and Gandhi's role in it. It's surprising that more people don't visit this place -- it's a must-see in anyone's book.

A visit here is a humbling experience. I thought I knew a bit about Gandhi but I learnt so much a wonderful tranquil spot to reflect on his momentous achievements all by non violence. There is also a gift shop selling lovely work from a womens project. Beautifully kept garde and seeing his few possessions during the last days of... More

Gandhi Smitri is where Ghandi lived until he was shot by a religious zealot on 30th January 1948. The exact spot of his assassination is marked by a small shrine in a pavilion in the gardens (incredibly a group of Japanese tourists were taking selfies in front of it). The building and gardens were beautiful but Ghandi's room was very... More

This was a lovely peaceful place, nearly a place of pilgrimage to one who did so much for India. The gardens are beautiful

What an amazing place , it was very humbling to see where Gandhi had lived for the last days of his days and to see what possesions he had, it was intersting to read about his life and his thoughts he had, a very poignant place to visit.

Mahatma Gandhi has inspired the world with the philosophy of non-violence and resisting when needed. Find your own truth. Gandhi Smriti is the place where Gandhi has been living has last days before getting shot. This is a place everyone should visit to grasp the person and its vision.

Gandhi Smriti is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. It is the place where he spent the last 144 days of his life before he was assassinated. There is a lot of information on the grounds about Gandhi's life. It is extremely interesting. There is even footsteps that you can follow as Gandhi walked to the site of his last... More
