    Grand Palace
The Mysuru Palace is in the heart of the city. The Palace visit will require shoes and socks to be taken off. So please wear comfortable sandals or slip ons. There are shoe areas to deposit the shoe. Please check the number on the bag matches token. In our case it was reversed but my son remembered the original number. There is a lot of security so better to not carry lot of bags. If you have a hat bring it. It gets very hot in the grounds and the hats and caps at the gate are expensive. The Palace has a museum area, a painting gallery, durbar halls, cannons. It is beautifully kept. A portion of the palace is cordoned off and is residential. There are a lot of temples inside the complex. A little decorous dress is reccomended avoiding shorts, halters, sleeveless tops or short skirts if you would like to see the temples. There are eateries, toilets and drinking water arrangements inside the Palace complex.

    Blend of Richness and Elegance
A magnificent piece of architecture with lot of history. A must see in Mysore. Hire a guide if possible for detailed information. This place can easily take 2-2.5 hours along with a stroll around palace. The place is beautiful in the evening when lit in full lights - starting from 7 pm in the evening.

    Interesting history
Interesting palace. Get a guide to show you around and explain everything. Great decor and historic paintings and artefacts. Good for photos and very busy. Didn't bother with the light show as you could walk by at night and see it lit up anyway.

    Grand palace visit
Big beautiful palace. Can easily spend 3 hours here. We went with 2 infants under two. Below were our challenges: standing in queue for tickets (although) queue cleared quickly Also the light show was not in our language still worth viewing. Please plan your visit if you want to see the light show in your language and on Sunday only the entire palace illuminates. Pictures are allowed Shoes are not allowed Auto easily available outside 5 entrances to the palace, not all are for general public Activities outside the palace, take a stroll around the palace lots of small eateries. Horse rides

    Magical Palace
At the Mysore Palace, I was treated to an experience that was truly magical! I was astounded by the beautiful and detailed architecture, as well as the vivid colours. Discovering the past and the culture that had been preserved within its walls was a genuinely captivating experience. My appreciation for the experience was heightened as a result of the knowledgeable guides' contributions, which brought depth to the tour. The magnificence of the palace, especially when lit up at night, was a sight to behold for anyone who happened to be there. Anyone interested in getting a look into the rich legacy of India should make it a point to visit this site.

    Out of this world
The entrance and moving through the palace was v busy with lots of crowds. However the wait was more than worth while. The marble architecture and decorations are beautiful. Each room is better than the next. Allow plenty of time to enjoy the experience

The palace is amazing. You only get to see a small portion but the opulence is staggering. Well worth the visit, inside and outside. The ceiling art is fantastic a mix of Indian and western influences

We made the mistake of going on Republic Day 2024 when the palace was bursting at the seams. It was a fight to get in, particularly at the crazily busy footwear depository. Having paid Rs 2 per pair to deposit, which is OK, the young man at the collection desk had the cheek to demand money for returning our footwear. This seemed entirely unoffical and stubborn protestations were required in order to get shoes returned without further charge.
Inside the palace, we were carried along by a river of humanity. There was little scope to stand and appreciate. Maximising visitor throughput is the keynote here and the path of least resistance was to shuffle along the prescribed route as part of a dense ant colony doing the same. Try to work out a less busy time if you you want to go. It's a great building but I cannot recommend making a big effort to get there based on our experience.

If you hate crowds, stay away. Don’t get me wrong, the palace is gorgeous and very charming. A lazy stroll won’t happen though inside the palace. You just stand still, crowd will take you through and bring you out. It is bad. That bad. You can’t see anything, you can’t take a picture, it’s horrendous. Maybe it’s ok for others but I hate crowds and noises. People stepping on you every other way, pushing you over, knocking you around. Find when the off season is, enjoy the beauty of this at your own pace. That’s what I will do next time.
I made a huge mistake visiting here on holidays . Again., the palace is really worth it but I can’t stand the rush.
