Awful place with dishonest people. The textiles are fake, an item I bought there for 500 rupees was quoted at 150 rupees in Delhi in a street stall- definitely not silk. Unfortunately for me, I trusted them to make me 3 dresses as well. What came was unfinished POS with very bad stitching, half assed lining, white thread that you... More

We visited Village Textile, during a month long trip through India. The managers and Tailors were very friendly and attentive. There are so many beautiful textiles to choose from. We had clothing made to measure that fitted perfectly. My daughter had a photograph of a dress, which the tailor at Village Textile made for her. It fitted perfectly and looked... More

The products are obviously genuine hand-made. The overall quality was very good. We were fed the line about being a co-operative but this is typical Indian/Far Eastern sales pitch. Mainly textiles and rugs/carpets with some shirts etc., the staff were all sales orientated but they have just one chance as western visitors are unlikely to return very often. Delivery was... More

I bought some throws from this store and found the prices a little high compared to other stores but no scams. The only issue i have with these places is that t hey will not leave you alone and act like you are rich and want or need everything they have to offer. Why do i need 5 bed spread... More

We were referred here by a jewelry store in Jaipur (where our goods have been appraised for a good value) and taken by a driver the jewelry store called. We definitely thought we were somehow being taken care of. We spent a number about two or three hours at the factory going through the tour and looking at products. In... More

Our driver drives us there and they telled us a story about poor woman etc. Don't believe them and don't buy anything there. They tell you that they work for the government and show you prove, never seen it. Then they take you upstairs to look at the stuff they make. You only see 7 people that want to sell... More

This is a grade one Indian tourist scam. They tell you bogus stories which are all lies, but we knew that right away and had a little laugh about it. The block painting "factory" is just a cover for a store which sells the same Kashmiri handicrafts as everywhere else. If you're inexperienced traveling in India beware and don't go... More

I have read all the reviews above and my experience is not different from others but I must say that no wonder people think twice before they advice others when it comes to shopping in the shops like this. There are large number of skilled workers who are unable to find a place for their art in the world because... More

We also were taken there by tuk-tuk driver and it was described as a workers cooperative/wholesale shopping experience where prices would be cheaper than the local bazaar and haggling would be kept to a minimum. Like others, not convinced about these points : the things we bought were what we wanted but the prices were not necessarily cheaper than the... More
