This was not a modern zoo where animals live in natural habitats etc. The animals here were primarily in old school cages and some were chronically pacing which is evidence of anxiety. It felt a bit sad to be there.

You will get to see all basic animals and parrots different variety. Mostly it gonna take around 2 hours on an average to take a round including HMI COUPLE of places to have refreshments

The variety of animals is awesome. The compound also houses Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.The tranquility of the place on a weekday is good.

This zoo is spread over huge area. One can sight rare animals like black panther, snow leopard , royal bebgol tiger and red panda. Kids enjoy this place a lot. There is a museum in this property which is very much animals and birds informative....More

This is a must visit place if you are in Darjleeing and like animals or coming with kids. Though variety of animals is good but quality is average.

The zoo is very well maintained & the animals are taken care of. Kids loved the zoo. The awesome & pleasant weather made it even wonderful.

The zoo is full of wonderful animals. The Red Panda is a sight to watch for. Not to forget the colourful birds, monkeys, reptiles, bear, wolf, black panther, tigers, etc. Lots of excitement & fun.
