We loved the ambience..the vibrancy..the crowds..the chatter! The shops around are so good. We bought beautiful crockery from Nathmulls..delicate Darjeeling tea from Golden Tips..and the best bakery and eatery is Glenary's! Amazing chocolate

It is the city center of Darjeeling. I understand that after moving hawkers to the side lane, it became better. This is a place where you can sit down if you get a place and relax as no vehicular traffic is allowed. Due to heavy urbanization, you can't see the beauty of the surrounding mountains. You will see only buildings... More

Its good place for people to sit and pass time. But not maintained neatly. Lots of waste and unclean roads.

The chowrasta is like a city centre from where different streets emerge and those are filled with tiny shops which sell all varieties of woolens and artifacts. We could spot very few shops that sell other apparels. There are road side eateries which offer you all kind of snacks like roasted corn, momo, noodles etc. The shop "Asian Art Palace"... More

We were at Darjeeling on 21st & 22nd April 2017. Chowrasta is a good place for relaxing & enjoying the view. During evening, this area becomes crowded. People just relax and enjoy by taking icecreams, pani puri, jhal murhi and other street foods. There are many souvenir shops also. There is a very big book stall here and we spent around... More

Best place for a walk or a pony ride in Darjeeling. Has a giant TV screen for the public. Strictly a no smoking zone. Good public toilets. Several tea and souvenir shops nearby. Don't forget the Governor's House, the Gymkhana Club and the Darjeeling tourist lodge.

Good place to hangout in the evening. Ample options for everyone - horse riding, hot bhutta (corn), tea, shopping, nice view of hills... There is a stage were people perform... Best of all it is safe even in late evening...

It is a nice place to spend time as you can enjoy the weather and beauty of the hills. If weather permits you can capture the scenic beauty of Himalayas, shopping and other activities for kids.
