Darjeeling means train trip on Road. Really wonderful experience. Luckily got tickets on line for next day. Thoroughly enjoyed steam engine ride with typical horn sound. Train goes from Darjeeling to Ghum back to Darjeeling. Steam Engine fare is Rs.1300/- and Diesel Engine fare is Rs.800/- for one round trip.

It's a joy ride of Darjeeling. All should try this joy ride but you should do advance booking before 1 days or u should ask for advance booking by agents otherwise u can't enjoy this joy ride.

If you are in Darjeeling then this is one experience you must have. The amount of passion and commitment the maintenance staff shows to keep this mammoth thing running is amazing. Salute to the railways staff who runs the show. These over 100 year old steam engines running efficiently because of continuous hard work. Am not sure how much they... More

This is a trap. Train follows the same route as road with Batasia Loop added. Waste of time and money. The journey time is curtailed to 3 hrs. Views are not scenic. Dirty track and roads. Darjeeling has become crowded.

This has been on my husband's bucket list for a long time and he was not disappointed. It was quite crowded on the way up to Ghoom but as most people did not return immediately to Darjeeling it was more comfortable on the way down!

This should be the must do activity for all the people visiting Darjeeling. It takes around 2 hours for both Diesel hauled as well as Steam ones. However, availing steam one is recommended as it gives old world charm which is unique and the little B -Class steam locos are living legends for sounds, fragrance & romance of a bygone... More

My wife and I travelled with family and friends on the Toy Train from Kuresong to Darjeeling in April for a family wedding. The group booked the entire train (three carriages) and a great adventure was experienced travelling up the magnificent mountain. It's hard to describe how unique this trip is as the small gauge track skirts shops and houses... More

Reminds you of the Raj & the days gone by.. Tickets cost Rs 1300 for steam & Rs 800 diesel. All coaches are First Class esp for Joyrides.Go for the steam as it provides a more authentic experience via-a-via Diesel engine joyride
