Only the name DHR, steam engines and the railway stations are of the British raj era. Old wooden coaches and rail sleepers have been replaced by iron. Whistling and chucking steam engine gives the vintage feel. Pricey compulsory round trip@ 1100 per person for steam...More

The Darjeeling Toy Train ride is a good one and showing the heritage of toy train. There is still place for improvement as the stoppage time at Batasia Loop should be increased as the 10 min time given to passengers is very less.

It commenced 10 to 15 days back after Gorkha agitation on experimental basis.soon they will start the services as per news

Within dec things might turn out to b fine. Yet u can postpone ur plans till jan or feb 2018, if that suits u.
