Observatory hill is the best place for people to sit and observe the Kanchenjunga ranges. This is a most peaceful place to relax and to get synchronised with the nature. This place offers spectacular views of the Kanchenjunga ranges.

The Observatory Hill near the Mall provides some of the most beautiful views of Darjeeling. Take a walk from the city to here and watch the hills. The Mahakal Temple is here as well.

Walk past main chowrasta Mall, Bhanu Bhavan and St Andrews church and the reach Observatory Hill. Best time to visit is just before twilight. You may club it with the visit to Mahakal temple.

Great place to get good views of the Kanchenjunga range. Loads of prayer flags. A few tea stalls. Good for an evening out with your better half.

The best place to see Kanchenjunga, other than Tiger Hill. If you're lucky, the whole range will be visible.

If you visit Mahakhal temple then walk a bit and you will find this observatory hill. It's a great walk in the afternoon while the weather is not too hot.

A trail for everyone is the loop trail called Observatory Hill. On one end of the loop is the market, and the entire perimeter of the other end is ruled by views of Kanchenjunga. Do not forget to have a cup of Mimi noodles/soup or...More

I must have been to the town 10 times so far and every visit is a new experience. Quite enjoyed the trip this time too. Its a bit crowded. Its OK when you consider the weather is really good.
