The victorian building is a must visit when you are in kolkata. situated amidst vast open ground the building houses a museum of british artifacts. Strolling around the surrounding garden is very refreshing. Located in the heart of the city.
A monument that stands out for its wonderful architecture. Set amidst lawns which are well manicured, ponds and fountains, this place is ideal for a picnic. The museum is a treasure house for history buffs. Definitely a must visit place in Kolkata.
If you have time, take a trip to this place. Kolkata visit will not complete without this place. Take a little more time may be half day for visiting the garden, museum at the Victoria memorial hall. You will enjoy for sure.

Kolkata is a good city to hold your wedding ,Have fun. We had a wedding photo shoot last year with photographers (no problems) .You buy tickets at the Main Front Entrance Gates Where there are rows and rows of horse driven carts, the tickets are cheap, lets you into the gardens and then into Victoria memorial. You are allowed around the gardens to take pictures, but not inside the Victoria Memorial for pictures, I did but was shouted at by some guard lol best time to go is about mid afternoon, happy photos, hey there is also Echo park (Small Fee Entrance). Which is a short ride away, The people of Kolkata have developed that now, check it out a day before as it has some good photo shoots there also, its a big place and they have the 7 wonders of the world there lol Any problems which I doubt , just smile it take you a long way :-)
Ps Take an umbrella and lots of water, oh take some flat shoes as there are many hard to walk areas with high heels ! Have fun :-)
