Such a neat little museum, and free to boot. My 6 and 8 year olds loved it, as did I. Info on insects, spiders, shells, minerals, animals and more. The small building packs a lot of exhibits. It only took 45-60 minutes to explore but we walked out happy with our experience. Worth checking out if you are in the... More

How can you say anything bad about a free museum? It has plenty of interesting items although it is on the small side. We take friends and family here.

I visited this small private (free) museum with elementary and preschool grandchildren. We all had a good time. It's certainly worth the trip if you are in Decatur, but not a destination in itself. Allow an hour. I am a biologist and I was bothered by a bit of Creationist nonsense here and there, but it's a very small part... More

Very nice (even nicer since free admission), good for all ages. [Take this with a grain of salt: I heard plans were for a much bigger museum to be built nearer downtown ... this one is nice, can only imagine how much nicer it will be.]

There is a little bit of everything in here from insect, animal, bird and reptile specimens to fossils, a meteorite, a few live specimens, rocks/minerals/crystals exhibit. I have to comment that I was QUITE impressed with the displays because everything was labeled and organized so well. (I am kind of OCD in this department and I loved the "smaller to... More

When you pull up, you don't think there is much in there, but it was amazing how much there is to see and how much you can learn there!

Not that big, but very interesting and I am told that future prospects mean bigger building and expansion. It was informative and had nice trinkets for sell and the lady at counter was friendly and helpful . All in all a very pleasant experience.
