Gulf Coast Zoo is very special to the Yaun Family. My father-in-law carved a magnificent Python Center Pilling that is under the thatch hut. My daughter was raised on Sumner Youth Camps here. We take all visiting friends here first thing. I will not bore...More

My daughter and I visited the Alabama gulf coast zoo. The zoo offers unique animal encounters with lemurs, kangaroos and sloths. It was so much fun! The staff was awesome and extremely educated. I highly recommend this zoo on your next gulf coast visit.

Sad to visit. Not worth entry fee. A Most animals appeared restless and displayed dull coats. Depressing and in dire need of upgrading appearance and grounds.

Fun morning or afternoon can be spent here. We will go back again for sure. Loved all the monkeys and ability to interact with animals.

This was a wonderful little zoo - smaller than other zoos I have visited but we spent a number of hours here and really loved it. Nearly all of the animal enclosures are made so that you can reach in and pet the animals, some...More

I don’t remember a hippo. It’s a smaller to medium size zoo. It’s not super crowded. If you want a major zoo you could go to the New Orleans Zoo which is less than 3 hours from this location . Hope this helped.
