Stayed for an anniversary weekend. We live in Huntsville and always wanted to stay in one of the CCC built cabins. Kitchen has the essentials (refrigerator, stove top, sink) but you are the dish washer. Bathrooms are cramp, but private. Great trails to hike. Reasonable priced but you need to reserve early to get your desired dates. Want to plan... More

My wife and I traveled here to visit my brother and we took a hike out to the natural well. It's a fairly easy hike and about 4 miles round trip from the parking lot. Lot's of interesting rock formations and a fascinating deep natural well in the limestone. Pretty cool hike!

This park offers breathtaking views for people who love to hike. Even if you just want a short stroll, you can choose how long of a trail you hike on. Dogs are welcome too. They also do an art festival that's out of this world.

Beautiful mountain hiking only a few miles from central Huntsville. Made for a lovely Christmas afternoon day-hike. (70 degrees F.)

I enjoy visiting Monte Sano because of its charm and trails. The rangers and employees are friendly and kind. I run trails at the park at least once a month or more. Visit for your family picnic or low stress day in the woods.

Awesome trails and facilities with great views. We went on a 3 mile hike that was not difficult and great for our family of 5 with two dogs. It was a bit rocky at some points, so I wouldn't recommend for families with strollers. We didn't even begin to explore everything the park has to offer! We did have to... More

We went for a walk in the middle of winter. While there was not a lot to see in terms of plants or animals this time of year, it was a very nice walk among the trees. We went twice and walked on several of the paths. All were very walkable and you can easily map out a 3-4 mile... More

I had been here several times before but it was usually in the heat of the summer. The paths are clearly marked and even a novice hiker can navigate the trails. It is well maintained and the views are wonderful.

We strolled through several trails in November. It was a beautiful, peaceful place full of views of the surrounding countryside. I don't know how the weekends are, but Wednesday morning was pretty quiet. If you're in Huntsville, plan a few hours here and bring you lunch with you.
