There are several entrances into this cemetery. I thought this was just a confederate cemetery, but it was a mix of both. It was nice and maintained. There was some labeling ( for example block 1,2,3 etc). I didn't get to walk the whole area,...More

We started off at the Dead Children's Playground. I got the story, but didn't think much of it . . . until later. We meandered around the newer section and admired many of the stories told by the tombstones. Interestingly, some very old ones were...More

We went during the cemetery stroll. It was a great event but was oh so crowded! It was difficult to see some of the speakers. The cemetery itself is beautiful. I'd like to go back when it's quiet to wander around.

This place has many historical people buried here. Tallulah Bankhead is one of many that are portrayed in the flesh during the cemetery stroll. This place has been around since the founding of Huntsville and many local people are in residence. It is a must...More

This cemetery goes back several centuries. The headstones are beautiful and historical. Have taken several classes there and done tracings from the headstones.

We have 3 generation laid to rest there. Well kept and good people. However, the plots are expensive if you didn't buy them long ago.

Maple Hill Cemetery is a very tranquil part of Huntsville's history as so many of it's citizens are laid to rest here. The cemetery is not eery as it is located adjacent Twickenham. Houses surround gates and stone walls, because the peace does radiate. Family...More
