We went to this beach on 30 Dec eve, the place was overcrowded, it may have been a better idea to visit this beach once the tourist rush was over.

I have been to Goa 5 times but as far I know you cannot rent an umbrella. Baby beach tents may be available in big shops but not in the beach side shops. You better prepare from home for both the things.
