We were so glad to find an authentic store where we could talk to the craftsman and buy original pieces. A rare find in the tourist hotspots of Malaysia! Love the three prints we have and wish we bought more. Highly recommend a visit.

Hueman is a great little community store that sells and supports crafts created by Malaysian indigenous communities as well as other locally made products. Much more then just touristy souvenirs this little gem is a great place to find something a little more unique.

You will find that the you walk from shop to shop in Jonker Street that you get a strong feeling of Deja Vu. The same products are being sold in a lot of the shops and it's difficult to find anything original or authentic. Hueman Studio is a breath of fresh air in this regard. Set up by an artist... More

More than a shop or a gallery! this place is like an institution! everything in this shop is visually stimulating, the colour, the shape, the display everything was well thought-out and clearly a work of a talented individual. I suspect it was the Mr. Kooi himself. we stayed in Malaka for three days and we went to this shop, hm...... More

Me and my lover found this shop by accident as we was walking around there (there is a temple not far from here). It is located in a very quiet street, and we stop there cause there is not much attraction around and it seemed a lovely place. The owner, Kooi Hin, is super friendly and he explained us all... Hard to spot but worth the look. No big sign but on main thoroughfare - 9 Jalan Tokong. He's a printer. Lovely prints and souvenirs for sale at reasonable prices. Nice batik gifts. Quirky interior. Very friendly reception.

We visited Melaka last year for the first time and bought some beautiful prints here. They are now framed and look amazing in our house so returning to Melaka for Christmas 2014 we had to buy some more, for ourselves and friends. The colours of the block prints are vibrant and contemporary, the designs attractive and somehow soothing. The gallery... More
