This street has an abundance of restaurants, bars, and shops. Fun during the day and more colorful at night for the adventurous! We are at a different restaurant every day!

We stopped by on a Sunday and about half the shops and restaurants were closed. Nice walk and music playing through the different bars and restaurants. Not much to do but stroll along the strip and find some good spots for a beer and bite to eat.

Our first experience of Mobile was a walk through Dauphine street yesterday. What stands out is that the street is clean, shops & bars/eateries are lively and people are friendly. It just feels like a cool place to be. There seem to be a lot of locals and not many tourists which is good because it means there's not the... More

Bars interspersed with a great book store, nice restaurants, two lovely little parks needing a bit of care, and balconied buildings of various styles and ages. All in all quite a puzzling walk about. Why are their empty storefronts? The downtown is changing...but in which direction?

I grew up visiting New Orleans and wandering the French Quarter so I was skeptical and was thrilled to be proved wrong. We found Dauphin Street to have fabulous architechure, bars, restuarants and cute gift stores and boutiques. We wandered comfortably, even on a crowded Mardi Gras weekend. We did not spend enough time to see everything. I would definitely... More

Strolled down Dauphin Street and almost got trapped by the evening's Mardi Gras parade. A fun and happening atmosphere. Parking was available in nearby hotel lot.

Dauphin Street is so beautiful!!! The store fronts and restaurants are very unique within the City of Mobile. The fabulous architected facades of the buildings are just waiting for tourists and locals to enjoy!!! Mardi Gras parades travel down Dauphin Street to the huge crowds standing along the historic sidewalk... a "must experience" while in Mobile, Alabama!!!

Take the time to stroll down this street -- there are places to eat or grab a drink, there's a gallery, a park, and a great place to people watch. Stop into A & M Peanut Store, grab a bag of peanuts, and take in the sights!

This is the first time that my boyfriend has ever visited Mobile. I couldn't wait to walk down Dauphin and show him how beautiful this town is.

Some lovely restaurants on this street. On the weekends they often have an Art fair in the park. If you plan to visit, go on a sunny (not a very hot) day.
