You can feel the history and across the street is the first confederate white house . But as you walk around you can see real history that you cannot learn in schools . I'm definitely gonna visit again

This 2nd floor museum is truley well worth spending a couple of hours exploring. The history of Alabama is visually presented in the displays. Don't forget to look at the different flooring techniques that relate to the time period!

Being a Yankee, the history of the town and these structures is palpable. There is some bad stuff that has happened in this town and you can feel it! This should not sound too negative, it is history and we the people are moving forward.

We arrived in Montgomery late, so we weren't able to go into the buildings, but walking around the capitol was still fantastic. The buildings are amazing, and the monuments and statues are spectacular!

This bright white building sits high on the hill overlooking the boulevard leading down to Courthouse Square. It is quite an imposing site. It is free to visit, with self guided tours available. there is parking outside on the street.

How grand it was to go up and down the staircase, stroll through the corridors and get bird's eye views of the chambers while admiring the architecture. Very few visitors, it was like having the Capitol to ourselves to take in the history. Great pictures...More

My wife and I stopped in here while visiting Montgomery. While there are guided tours at 9, 11, 1, and 3, we arrived between those times and used the self guided tour booklet to view the capital building. The building has some beautiful architectural features...More
