We often look up Atlas Obscura online to see what offbeat things can be found in a new town. Turns out Montgomery is the “home” of Hank Williams Sr and he is buried in a big cemetery a couple minutes from downtown. Making the short...More

If you have any interest in country, Americana or "roots" music, Hank Williams has to be a vital part of your worldscape. Standing and viewing his and wife Audrey's final resting place is the most reverential experience I've had to date as someone who was...More

It is not at the main entrance of the cemetery but the furthest east where you will see a sign. The car paths are TIGHT. Drive slow and be aware.

I love cemeteries and this one was no exception. The grounds would be more beautiful if they were properly maintained. We couldn't walk around due to the tall, overgrown grass. I'm rating it four stars for the history and character of the cemetery. It is...More

Thank you for taking time to stop in and visit Hank Williams' grave. There has been so much rain and could be the reason for tall grass. Hanks grave area is very well maintained and doesn't require getting in the grass to visit.
