Old school candy shop

This is an old school candy shop set in a 100+ year old bay cottage, and both are worht seeing. Make sure you try the pralines and divinity.

We have been stopping here on the way back to Gulf Shores from visiting Fair Hope for many many years. Everything is homemade and the people who work there are happy to talk and share stories about the candy and the history of the shop. There are also ample samples so you have a good idea of what you might... More

Absolutely must check out the kitchen. We always stop. Very cool historical building but it's also a candy factory. Lots and lots of samples- all fresh and yummy. The gift shop also had regular gift items along with jellies. You can also schedule tea parties here and there is a restaurant on the grounds but we've never eaten there.

My family LOVES this place so we usually go every year. My kids are younger at 3 and 5 so the reality of a candy kitchen they weren't as into as opposed to what candy kitchen meant to them in their minds, bc most of the candy has nuts or is chocolate. But it is excellent homemade quality and taste... More

We stopped in here to see the shop. It is actually an old house. There were many samples around. I thought the prices were somewhat high. There were lots of different kinds of fudge, pecans, chocolates, etc. My boyfriend, who grew up coming here, wanted to bring me for since it has been around a long time. It was a... More

Really disappointed . Prices were a bit much and the selection though there were many were just pretty average . Maybe because we make homemade preserves and fudges as well as pralines, our expectations were a bit high. There are samples of pretty much everything they sell. There is a kitchen where you can actually see them preparing their goodies.... More

All I can say is English Toffee covered in milk chocolate. So much to try! So hard to decide! Good thing she offers samples.

My partner and I spent 50.00 on a few prices of mediocre candy and I asked to use their restroom. I was asked " well is it an EMERGENCY"? And I was told that their restroom is not for public use "BECAUSE ITS NOT UP TO HEALTH DEPARTMENT CODE".... ??? Whaaa ???.. And the candy IS NOTHING SPECIAL, ESPECIALLY FOR... More

I bought several types of candy. I asked if there was a bathroom . I was told that the bathroom they had was no public restroom. It is intended for emergency use only.It is not up to health dept regulations. Incidentally there was a child's party occurring that time. Not returning

This shop is actually an old house. We felt as if we were intruding in someone's home. We were shown two small rooms with candies for sale and encouraged to try the many samples sitting about in small open dishes. The products seemed over priced. We preferred the selection and prices at the Fresh Market in Daphne instead.
