It is a bit round down small collection of studios, galleries, cafes - not welcoming especially if you do not speak Chinese. The main feature is a long graffiti wall - duh? Difficult to get on public transportation

A contemporary art yard with several coffee shops around, a place like 798 in Beijing. Took half day tour there with my family, enjoy different kinds of art, have a cup of coffee in the stylish shop, not many people during the weekday, quite relaxed!...More

An old factory complex turned into galleries and art studios. A great place to meet artists and see what is gong on in the art world in Shanghai. We could walk from the Courtyard Marriott Central, Shanghai.

Quite OK, but cannot compete with 798 in Beijing in any way. Worth a visit, anyway. The surrounding graffiti areas are nice.

Went during the day midweek and it was fairly quiet. Street art was decent but seen better. Island 6 was the standout by far and there was a 10 year anniversary exhibition which was brilliant.

As others have said, yes. It's about 10-15 minutes from the Central Train Station. It's a nice walk over the Suzhou river.

Agreed, no ticket needed. But you have to get there, and it's a bit out of the way, so there's a time investment, even if there's no fee.
