I would describe the place as more like a cluster area for shops selling art than exhibition. Might be good for people wanting to explore the local artists. Some nice work in shops but most won't allow photo taking.

If you are into visual art, this is a place for you. It looks like it was an old factory or something before but now it is fashioned as a small area with loads of galleries and caffes.

M50 has becom quite the global leader in contemporay arts. We enjoyed a few hours strolling through the art shops and enjoyed some amazing art. There are restaurants and bars where you can sit back and people watch as well. This is a must visit.

As others have said, yes. It's about 10-15 minutes from the Central Train Station. It's a nice walk over the Suzhou river.

Agreed, no ticket needed. But you have to get there, and it's a bit out of the way, so there's a time investment, even if there's no fee.
