Watch out, this place is a tourist trap and a hard sell to buy their products. We were rushed through a history of the silk road and silk production then it was out the back. We made two separate purchases, it wasn't until we got...More

Visited this factory on a tripadeal tour. This was a informative section but on a whole it was a hard sell designed to sell overpriced silk to the tourist. We were herded and processed through like cattle. At one stage we were locked in a...More

Went here with a group and was amazed by what I seen, the staff were very good at explaining everything. I got to try stretching the material for a duvet, upstairs you can see women making silk rugs. Was told it can take 10 to...More

The Silk Factory tour was very interesting. I thoroughly enjoy my duvet and cover, but it isn't sized as I expected. I would advise anyone purchasing that they are very careful about the size and pattern. I have a double bed and purchased my items...More

I have no idea what location those that have written about the Tian Hou Silk Factory are referring to. There is not a silk factory nor a nearby factory store anywhere near No. 308 Hong Jing Lu in the Minhang District of Shanghai. There is...More

I thought this place was too fancy for me, but I did enjoy the explanation of stages of silk worms, demonstrations on threading, and getting to see how they make pillows, and comforters. We even got to pull the material and stretch it ourselves. The...More

The tour was in two parts; firstly about the cocoons and how the silk was stretched. You can even have a go at doing this yourself. After the demonstration of how the silk-wadded quilts are made you are invited into the shop which sells not...More

Recommend. I really enjoyed seeing how this was done and was fascinated with how the web of silk can be stretched to doona size!

The factory has two main sections: demonstration of processing silk and the construction of silk-wadded quilts, and then an extensive showroom of ready-to-wear. Sizes are not exactly like American ones: my king silk quilt needs a queen duvet cover. Terrific values on the quilts, and...More

As part of our Sinorama tour we learned about the silk process and it was very interesting. There was high pressure to purchase and we bought a set: duvet, cover, sheets and pillow shams. The store vacuum packed and wrapped the package for easy packing...More

Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place
that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle
down and stop living in the cramped confines of a
refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park
are some of the most desirable as they are in close
proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to
the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw,
it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports

My wife and I currently visited your factory Sunday May 7th. We purchased a super king comforter and sheets along with 2 pillows. Before we left I asked about the cover for the comforter and was told it came with sheet package. When we got home there was no cover for the comforter. My name is Leroy Garcia. I was there with the sinorama tour company.

We also were disappointed when we got home as our package did not contain what we thought we had purchased. Check with your credit card company as we were reimbursed through our card insurance. Good luck!
