A nice old cemetery with several famous people buried there. Easy to find. Lots of old live oaks covered in moss.

A very old and beautiful cemetery. Although it is used as a neighborhood short cut, so you have to lock your car and be aware when crossing the street in the cemetery. This is located near the Pettus bridge, so you can do both in about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Beautiful and very interesting. So much history. The cemetery office was so helpful in helping me find family graves in the New Live Oak cemetery.

The Live Oak Cemetery is a must see for cemetery and Civil War enthusiasts. The roads and paths are lined with old live oak trees with lots of Spanish moss. Some areas are in need of restoration. But the overall appearance of the cemetery is beautiful.

upon arrival in Selma, Alabama the Cemetery is not hard to find (next to Golf course) • met a nice fella named John (USAF LtCol Ret) and gave me a sit-rep (situation report which included paperwork) on some of the "high lights" of the Confederate Soldiers buried in Old Live Oak Cemetery • and then came along a "Southern Bell"... Oh how completely enchanting this cemetery is! You must meander through the gravestones and take in all the names. The statuary is some of the very best I've ever seen! And I've seen a lot of historic cemeteries! I completely recommend!

Don't miss this opportunity to visit this place. It is absolutely beautiful. The camera can't capture the beauty in this place. There is a Confederate area that is worth visiting.

We were for 1 day in Selma and could visit this beauty. YES this cemetery is beautiful. We kindly recommend the visit, not far from the Edmund Pettus bridge in Selma.
