Bellingrath gardens is a bit of town but well worth the 30 minute drive from Mobile. This is a large acreage of gardens with a historic home that was built in 1935 for the Bellingrath family. Mr. Bellingrath was a bottler with Coca-Cola and had...More

Bellingrath Gardens and Home is absolutely beautiful year round. They plant different flowers as the seasons change. Early spring, February-March all the spring bulbs are in bloom along with the azaleas. April-May the trees are blooming along with all the bedding plants. Summer is warm,...More

They were decorating for Halloween when we visited and it was delightful; the rose garden was still in bloom and we loved seeing the different varieties. The home was amazing incorporating antique local brick and cast iron galleries, Mrs. Bellingrath's collection of period furniture, porcelain,...More

It's the first of November, still warm in the low 80's. Some mums are blooming and some still have a couple weeks before they put on their show. Cascading mums still have a 2 week or so window on them also. Hydrangeas are done, but...More

Beautiful grounds and home. Not as impressive as some of the grander gardens and arboretums I've been to but lovely nonetheless. The house tour was one of the best parts, be sure to see it (note: lots of stairs, house tour not wheelchair accessible, and...More

We went in October, when there was not much blooming, yet the grounds were still attractive and well worth viewing. Loved the chapel - I think it was my favorite part. Had lunch in the cafe - it was okay, convenience being it's forte.

We fled from hurricane Matthew to Mobile. We love gardens and chose to spend our afternoon at Bellinghrath. Such a relaxing time in the gardens to take our minds off the storm and unwind from our driving. There are so many azaleas and they had...More

I experienced a horrible visit to Bellingrath Gardens. I have an absolute phobia about snakes and I was horrified to find one crawling along the path. This experience was bad enough but, while we were touring the gardens they were spraying something that was not...More

Only a short 30 minute drive from Mobile this should not be missed. Would love to come again when the rhododendrons and azaleas are in full flower. Oh and don't forget the lovely and interesting house.
