Small private Natural Reserve that takes care of a secundary forest in natural reneration. iT counts with a 600mts trail along the park. Around the facility you will find sloths (2 and 3 toes) a pretty big diversity of birds (Aprox.170spp)Butterfly garden, where you breed close to 20 different species. The frogs are very common, but mostly at night, in the day the msot active one is the blue jeans frog. It also has a small natural lake where Iguanas, Boat billed Herons and Caimans interact together. Besides wildlife, the Ecocentro Danaus supports the Maleku's Indigenous by providing a small facility where they can teach and exhibit their art ( Buying their art is optional )

It was DEFINITELY worth the extra $ for the guided tour! I would strongly recommend asking for Elias-he was INCREDIBLE!! Kept both our teenage boys engaged.

Has such a cool visit here - it’s a really worthwhile project to show off Costa Rican wildlife in this environment. Not a zoo - the animals can come and go and live in their natural habitat, a recovering rainforest that is stunning in itself....More

It is absolutely amazing how in such a small reserve you can find such an incredible array of birds, amphibians and mammals as in here, it is better than a zoo but in the wild. Great expert guides take you through a trip of animal...More

We had been recommend to come here by our guide in Rincon de la Viejo. Although the trail is only 600m long, if you take the guide which I strongly recommend, you can easily spend 2 hours here as we did. You would never spot...More

This was one of the best stops on our "Natural Heritage" tour of Costa Rica. The guided walk through the jjungle was outstanding and very informative. The butterfly garden was equally good. Not nearly as commercial as many of the stops on our tour.

We took the guided night tour. We saw the largest male Jesus Christ lizard that we saw in our entire week in Costa Rica. Sloth, night blue herons, caiman, the butterfly houses... our guide was knowledgeable and funny. We had a fantastic time.

We took our family including 2 "tweeners" and we loved this visit. We saw a sloth, so many birds and a ton of amphibians, including the blue jeans poisonous frog which are likely hard to find as they're only an inch long! Loved it!

We saw a sloth sleeping up in a tree, the beautiful blue jeans poisonous tree frog, herons, lizards, beautiful butterflies and a few other critters I can't name. It was a cool, relaxing walk through nature, we loved it!
