Our goal was to see a sloth. We saw two. Saw a toucan and some ground animals. Beautiful area of land with lots of plants. Wish we saw a few other animals, but it is a wild sanctuary.

We did this after the La Fortuna Waterfall (many, many stairs) so it was a treat to have a very easy walk. We had a guide which was wonderful as we saw so much in the small park. (Three toed sloth, basilisk, caiman...)

Visited this preserve as a suggestion of the hotel I was staying at. It is a small park that was clean and trails well developed, although not ideal for wheel chairs (gravel paths). I saw several of the animals that were promised, although I really took my time going through the park. I wish I had hired the guide to... More

We appreciated our experience at Ecocentro Danaus so much we went twice! I am sure all the guides are excellent, but we found Elias to be charming, especially knowledgeable, and ready to express himself in excellent English. Even the day we did not hire him as a guide he helped enormously with our photographs. Danaus is your chance to learn,... More

Go there with a guide, it's only $20 and really worth the money! Sloths, frogs, iguanas, lizards, agouti, caiman and many birds! It's not a zoo but a small park in the wild where they attract the animals by dropping bananas on the ground! We were the only People walking around from 4 to 5 PM! The hike is only... More

Visited this place to see their butterflies but it turned out they had more to offer. This compacted area had more wildlife that I saw in other places. We did not make arrangements ahead of time to hire a guide but they were very accommodating in getting a guide for us. We lucked out because the guide we got was... More

We did a night walk at this location. There was a sloth in the tree near the entrance and our guide took the time before and after our 'official' trip to show us the sloth and a bit about them. The inside tour was neat, lots of frogs , which is what we wanted to see. It is not a... More

We went with people who had visited before, and were fortunate enough to have an excellent guide named Elias. Elias was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. He helped us find many different kinds of plant and animal life, and took the time to explain the different characteristics of each. Without a good guide like Elias, I think that the tour... More

I tried calling, and all my calls went to voicemail. I left voicemails, and nobody responded. I sent emails through their website and directly to their address, and no one replied. They are not conveniently located so I couldn't drop in to make a night tour reservation. Pretty clear they are not interested in hospitality.

This was a lovely evening as we went on the night tour. We saw sloths, butterflies, birds, snakes, camans, herons, toads and frogs. Also the various bugs. The tour was very well led and we really enjoyed getting to see some of the wildlife up close by flashlight.
