Hot springs were very nice but a little dangerous. they do not tell you about the rough bottom full of rocks so you can really hurt yourself. The water was nice and clean. The food was strictly average.

Spent an afternoon around the hot springs. Smartly skipped the buffet, and had some drinks at the pool. Once you get to the different pools along the river you feel you arrived to heaven. The temperature increases as you go up the stream.

Prior to coming to Tabacon, I had expected a very artificial experience. Maybe I was there during low season, but the springs were not crowded at all. I did this as part of a tour, and therefore it came with the restaurant buffet, which was also excellent. The hot springs were definitely a highlight to our trip.

The springs here are amazing although they can get crowded as they do allow outsiders to come an pay a daily fee. The plus of staying at the hotel is that you can time it right, they also have an adults only area with a bar that I highly recommend. Food at the restaurant was very good. The rooms are... More

First of Tabacon has some real advantages that can be hard to find in Costa Rica. It has good A/C, no bugs, hot water, and is clean. However the place kind of felt like a tourist trap and that some big hedge fund might have owned the place (not sure if this is true). When you first check in they... More

This is a very large hot springs resort, with a thermal river traveling through many small to medium sized hot pools. It is extremely well designed with an oriental feel to it. There is also a large swimming pool, with swim-up bar and small water slide attached. We chose to splurge and pay for a one night stay at the... More

Tabacon is a paradise for folks who love to relax and unwind in hot water. I absolutely love hot springs and this was the first time for me to see a spring flowing from a real source rather then a man made pipe. We enjoyed the various pools and r&r. The dinner was mediocre and by the time we went... More

How does this idea sound to you? Imagine going for a dip in a naturally heated river flanked by beautiful scenery, pools and waterfalls. Now, imagine a swim-up bar where you can have a drink while you the sight of Volcan Arenal holds your attention. On top of that, add the reasonably priced buffet. I raise you a spa. What... More

We got an evening pass and had a late dinner. Really enjoyed the swim up bar, gardens, pools, and waterfalls. Dinner was Mexican themed buffet. Check in procedure was somewhat of a hassle, and the locker room was sloppy.

Me and my husband did a c I up less massage, their spa is definitely one of the best! The rates vary depending on the time you go, but it gets cheaper starting in june. Before the massage... More
