Not extraordinary but worth a stop. The orchids are the highlight but the Japanese garden and the koi pond are good too.

We had a nice time walking through this botanical garden. Lots to see if you go slowly, and if you like succulents this is the place for you. The bamboo in the Japanese garden is wonderful. There are sections of this garden that need serious landscaping and attention but don't pay any attention to those, they aren't the show.

Several environments with different kind of plants. Great to visit each one of them and be amused from the decorations.

It was a great walk around Costa Rican plants and flowers. Well kept. Lots under construction unfortunately. Over priced in my opinion.

I really enjoyed my visit here. There is a nice Japanese garden and lovely areas with ferns, cacti, heliconias, etc. Interesting greenhouses with orchids.

This very nice destination to enjoy a Botanical garden. Is very well keep, its part of the national university of Costa Rica (UCR). For foreigners the cost is 10 USD for locals 5 USD for seniors or children 3 USD. Its about 45min to 1 hr ride from San Jose in a 35km trip. Be careful with traffic might be... More

This garden had a beautiful orchid house, a Japanese garden, bromiliad collection, cactus garden, and more. It wasn't too small, and wasn't too large. It's well organized, and if you follow the map (given) you can make a circuit through the garden and won't miss anything. There are several spots to sit, and lots of trees for shade. I'm an... More

I visited on January 7, and maybe flowers were out of season. There were virtually no flowers in bloom. The orchids were in a hothouse structure, and there were only a few blooming plants at the entrance and all the other plants in adjacent wings were not in bloom. You would surely see more flowers at your local florist. The... More
