Much less touristy place than Tamarindo but with everything you need. If you are a surfer, this is the place to be 😊

Beautiful, relatively long, incredibly picturesque beach backed by a small and sleepy beach town. Beach is wide at low tide and shallows extend far out. Waves and surf are manageable by anyone. Beach is far less traveled than Jaco or Tamarindo.... by far our favorite...More

My wife and I came here on honeymoon during the low season. It was amazing. The quiet town, consistent surf, great food. It was a perfect last stop on our way through Costa Rica. I highly recommend this place.

The beach was just enough waves to be fun but easy enough my kids didn't get knocked around. We were there on a weekend and parked easily.

I love the beach here, the Tico's here make sure its clean of debris. make sure the coconuts aren't about to fall and hurt tourists. It is the best one around.

It isn't really a party town. More family oriented with primarily restaurants, not pubs so much.

We used Samara Adventure Co for a dolphin/snorkelling tour. It was excellent. The Samara Info Center has many more activities to do in and around Samara. Enjoy!
