Berny our guide did a great job of showing us the natural surroundings of Costa Rica. The dry tropical forest is unique and is home to many amazing creatures. Berny is expert at finding birds and other wildlife for you to see then explains a little bit about them. There is much to see on this trail. Recommend taking the... More

Wonderful reserve. Such a great part of the experience was the knowledge, warmth, and customer concern shown by Bernie, our guide. There were spots where the hiking was moderately difficult due to a combination of incline, rooted path, and sandy surface. Much was easy. All well worth it. Bernie's knowledge extended beyond the plants and wildlife, but also to the... More

A beautiful place to be in the mornings, seeing birds, monkeys, butterflies, trees, etc. Bernie was an amazing guide...always attentive, both to us as visitors but also to the sights and sounds around us. He would hear a noise, ask us all to be quiet, then take a minute to set up and focus his telephoto lens on a tripod... More

Our guide was excellent, pointing out all of these and allowing us to view them through a telescope that he carried the whole trip. The tour took about 5 hours, and we hiked the upper trails as we left at... More

Benny, our knowledgeable guide, gave us an amazing hike this afternoon. He spent time explaining the interesting biodiversity of the preserve, always answering our questions with detail and accuracy. We were really impressed with our afternoon and would HIGHLY recommend it to those who wish to understand the connection between the natural and human life of Samara.

Had to get up early and was a good stretch of our legs, but well worth it. Lots of nature to see and our tour guide was great. Fantastic views.
