The tour was very nice. Marvin and the driver were extremely nice, courteous and considerate. When the areas weren't safe he worked with us to reschedule while we were still in town. All of the site tour guides were also very nice and welcoming.
The hikes to the 1st location were an 8/10 difficulty level. Mostly because it had been raining every day and we jad to swim thru parts of the river.
The other hikes 2 were 3/10 and short. We had 3 people in our group who don't workout at all and they did the longer hike, they were just sore the next few days.
I also appreciated someone was always with the locked van, incase you had to keep your personal items in it. They kept us safe.
Note: you will be wet for the first several hours, bring large towels and a dry set of clothes to change into. Marvin had several places available for us to change if needed. I also recommend canceling or rescheduling if it's raining. Marvin has other tours to choose from.
My group and I really enjoyed this tour. If we go back I plan to book another with Marvin.

We booked a private tour through Showtime and were lucky enough to have Sosa as our tour guide. He was a friendly and wonderful companion to our group of four adults and four children (ages 7,7,8, and 9). He made sure we were comfortable and stopped whenever necessary to accommodate the needs of our group. He also made suggestions along the way (like stopping at a bakery - yum!). We started our day with a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Next, we proceeded to a rainforest tour where Sosa set us up with a very knowledgeable guide who helped us spot sloths, frogs, and birds. As the day progressed, it became rainy in the area we were in. Sosa advised us that our original plans probably weren't the best options with the current weather, and he advised us on alternative excursions. While we were touring the rainforest, Sosa went out of his way making phone calls and other arrangements for us so that when we were finished, we could seamlessly move on to the next activity. He was able to get us to another area where we were able to river tube (MY FAVORITE THING THAT WE DID IN COSTA RICA) and checkout hot springs. Despite spending many hours with us, he was still willing to take us to a souvenir shop on the way home. One of the perks of booking a private tour is that you have more flexibility for your group, but Sosa went out of his way to make sure that we had THE perfect day. Thank you Sosa for our favorite tour in Costa Rica!!!

The guide who took us through the first waterfall jungle adventure was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the Costa Rica terrain. From the moment we got out of the shuttle, we were lead onto a truck and the adventure began! This is not your grandmas waterfall tour- this is the real deal!

This was such an amazing day I got to spend with my friends. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and we had the best tour guide Estevan! If there’s one thing you should do in Costa Rica its this tour! Loved we got picked up and dropped off at the hotel and had the entire van to ourselves. The lunch was fantastic.
A couple of tips: bring towels, extra pair of shoes and clothes ( best time to change is at the last stop as you’ll be done swimming). Don’t forget BUG SPRAY! Prepare for a decent workout on the hike it’s about a 2.5 mile hike and LOTS of stairs when going back up. Worth it but it can be challenging for people. Lastly bring water! Our tour guide was so fantastic he stopped 2 times for us to stock up on water and snacks (you do spend a good chuck driving) but he also had an ice chest of water for us. Overall this tour is great and worth the price ! Thank You Estevan for such an amazing day!!!!

Absolutely AWESOME!!! Greatly exceeded our expectations! Our Guide, Estaban(I called him Enrique😂and he kindly went along with it) was perfect - Engaging, informative, fun, patient and kind - he really went above and beyond ( made sure we were prepared and took extra time to buy us fresh mangoes and take us to the pharmacy as well)
Breathtaking waterfalls, some to view and some we got to jump off cliff into! We saw a baby sloth up close - so amazing! Saw spectacular frogs, birds, snakes, hummingbirds, butterflies, cicadas, cacao and coffee trees, papaya, mangoe, lime, and banana trees. Trip of a lifetime....highly recommend 👍🌴😎

Highly recommend. My family and I recently went on a tour with Sosa. You could say I went to Costa Rica primarily for the sloths. I was crying when Sosa found one I could barely see far up in a tree with the use of binoculars and a strategic squinting technique. Sosa didn’t give up, he found another more visible in a tree that wasn’t as high. He stood me in front of the tree with my back to it so id search for nothing and I’d be surprised when I turned around. No binoculars or squinting needed- surprised indeed. I saw my sloth. Of course I kept crying. Best experience.

Our guide, Sosa was amazing from the start! Got to quickly know our family & what our expectations were for the trip. He stopped along the way to give us the opportunity to photograph monkeys & birds native to the area.
He gave my daughters the experience of a life time in spotting many sloths hidden in the trees and even one crossing the highway!
He was patient & kind, answering all of our questions!
Highly recommend this trip.

We made a reservation for a private van to pick us at the Liberia airport, drinks included. When we arrived, no such vehicle was there. However, there were dozens of other transportation services waiting outside the airport to pick up other arriving passengers, so we asked around and finally found someone who knew the company we thought we had hired. He called them for us, and when we got them on the phone they informed us that they had no record of our reservation. They asked us how we made the reservation. When we told them it was through TripAdvisor, they told us that was the problem, specifically that TripAdvisor frequently fails to convey reservations to the local service provider. Fortunately, they found us other transportation to Tamarindo, but it sure as heck wasn't the fancy private van with free drinks and and an experienced guide that we had paid for. Instead, we were hustled across a sandy parking lot, dragging our bags behind us, and crammed into the back seat of a small sedan with no a/c, driven by a local who couldn't speak a word of English. We were relieved to get to our hotel in one piece, but it certainly wasn't in the style we expected, nor worthy of the price that we paid in advance.
The moral of this cautionary tale is that you don't need to use TripAdvisor. There are numerous transportation and tour guide options available online or through your hotel without the need of going through a third-party!

Our day consisted of zip lines, water rafting, horseback riding, waterfalls, and hot springs. Highly recommend the tour. Lunch is included and the food was good.
We also had a pick up and drop off from the airport which made our day very easy. They pick you up right in front of the terminal. Marvin also had a romantic dinner planned for my wife’s 30th birthday with transportation. Marvin makes it easy for you so you can enjoy your vacation.
Our tour guide was Esteban and he really made our tours enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable of the area. We had great conversation the whole time. He is also an awesome car DJ. Pura Vida Esteban!!!
