Excellent reclusive location, reminding me of ashrams in India. A veritable jumping board to a commune with nature. Getting there was quite the adventure, though. We arrived at Hotel Uran (1 km from Cloudbridge) at about 9pm, well after dark and well after the town had retired for the night. Our shuttle from Ride CR not being a 4x4, we... More

Cloudbridge is the beautiful result of a 15 year effort to reforest the area at the entrance to Chirripo National park. Getting there is half the fun... the road gets bad... then you get to the hotel Uran and then it gets really, really bad... 4 wheel drive essential for the last 3 km. Once there it is a wonderful... To be honest, we visited this reserve by "accident". We wanted to visit the Chirripo National Park. But after our journey in Cloudbridge, we were very happy that we didn't go to Chirripo. We did the longest trail, which combined a piece of the Chirripo main-trail, what an experience! We saw the nice Catarata Pacifica and other waterfalls. The trails... More

It's an amazing and peaceful place. It's perfect for hiking unfortunately we did'nt have enough time this time but we enjoied the little park with its waterfalls and nature. The people there are very friendly. It's a great project!

I visited Cloudbridge Nature Reserve with York university! It was a tough but extremely rewarding hike. Your guide will more than most likely suggest a walking stick... Take it! It makes your journey down much easier. This hike is mainly upward which means once you're finished it is all down hill (for the most part). There is an absolutely stunning... More

We loved our two visits to Cloudbridge. This place is nature heaven! We took a couple of short treks up the hill and visited the waterfalls. We swam in one but it was freeeezing! Loved the sense of remoteness. The trails were all in good condition even during some serious rainfall. Loved seeing all the golden centipedes.

Easy to find. Quite place. Also possible to hike to a waterfall. First part a lot of mosquitos. Need a repellant!

I did research here for a few days as part of a longer trip in Costa Rica. It was one of my favorite places I visited. Birders will be happy with the middle and high elevation species present. They have cabins available that look very nice to stay in. Many trails, warm water, and friendly people running it and dong... More

We seniors hiked in Cloudbridge at our own pace and found such beauty in the birds and waterfalls and cloud forest. Though we are not particularly fit, we were able to spend several hours hiking-- and also enjoyed the benches placed at spectacular vistas! This reserve is quiet and uncrowded, spend some time here hiking, yes,, but resting, too. it's... More

Nice tracks; tip: ask for river-crossings (two defect bridges). But the river is not that rough :) If possible, talk to the owner, he knows a lot about the region!
