Highly recommended to support the fantastic work they do and to see some amazing animals at close quarters. Left wanting to go back and spend some time volunteering for them. Cafe food and coffee also very good and offers further support.

The centre is wonderful, full of the most incredible animals and extremely well informed staff to tell you all about them! Our tour guide Virginia was excellent, and spoke brilliant and animated English, she really made it an unforgettable experience. Thank you!

I can't add much to other reviews of this place except to say that it was definitely one of the most interesting, educational and enjoyable attractions we visited on our stay in the Puerto Viejo area. You can get up quite close to the animals, which on our visit included snakes, sloths, jungle cats, frogs, deer, peccaries, caymans, monkey, pelicans,... More

If visiting Costa Rica at the Atlantic side, it should be a must to visit: JCR or Jaguar Rescue Center. The foundation is located near the place called: Cocles in front of playa Chiquita. By visiting this place, you help the local animals witch are, if possible, released after treatment by this non profit organization. The animals are brought in... More

A visit to the JRC is definitely recommended. It's a rehabilitation centre helping sick and injured animals rehabilitate back into the wild and is run by volunteers. Unfortunately some of the stories of how the animals ended up in the centre are very sad but the JRC are doing very good work for the welfare of the animals. The 9:30... More

Really enjoyed our visit. Guide was a tall British volunteer whose expertise was in apes and monkeys. We saw lots of sloths, monkeys, endangered cats, caimans, and a good snake exhibit. The 9:30 time is best as it is cooler and they are feeding the animals.

We loved this place and what they do for the animals. They take in injured, sick or abandoned baby animals with a goal of nursing them back to health and sending them back into the forest, whenever possible. In the private tour, we got to see so many of the animals, and in many cases very close up as some... More

All of the people working are volunteers and the tours can be done in larger groups or privately. They can also be done in many different languages. The work they do to save animals and teaching people about the native animals and their care is inspiring. Make no mistake, this is not a petting zoo. The goal is to treat... More

A wonderful way to spend the morning, ethuastic tour guide who knew what he was talking about. $20 a head well spent. We got close to the animals, this is not a petting zoo, it's run and managed by people who genuinely care about what they are doing.
