Not much to do on the beach here except surf. Not a snorkel area at all, very few shells so beach combing is poor.

The beach in town is nice but there are places where there was a lot of garbage and there are better beaches just a short walk further south.

Puerto Viejo is quaint and authentic. Nice variety of beaches, some for surfing and mor calm ones for snorkeling and swimming. No high rise resorts lining the beach, just a very nice little town!
