About
In the Chocolate tour you first visit the cacao plantation and receive an insight of the work involved in growing, care taking cacao trees and harvesting the cacao pots. There are other tropical fruit trees and large up to 60m tall shade trees native to the area of tropical rainforest, inhabited by diverse wildlife such as the howler monkeys, agoutis, kinkajous, sloths and many birds among others. All is managed organically, respecting the natural environment. You learn about the fermentation process and visit our traditional sun drier covered with the cacao beans. We taste different fruits from other trees depending the season. In our workshop you will receive a fruit juice of the farm and appreciate all the manual work to manufacture the chocolate, the way how the cacao beans are roasted on fire, then broken with stone and grinded by hand. You will come into the enjoyment to taste an ancient special chocolate drink and at the end a tasty dessert with the freshly made chocolate.

Fascinating/Delicious Tour on How Traditional Chocolate is Made
Jun. 2021
We were part of a small group touring the fields and chocolate production facility. This is not a fancy, freeze-dried, corporate tour, but an authentic experience in how organic chocolate is grown, managed and produced. A short walk leads to their production area where you participate in grinding the cocoa and producing chocolate. So delicious and well worth your afternoon.

It was really chill and educational experience. Marcus showed us his land, he gave us a whole tour. It wasn’t only about the cacao, but also about other plants and fruits. I found it really worth a visit!

Really nice Tour😍 with a lot of chocolate experience.
A lovely Guide :)

What I really liked about the tour was that it was really personally and not touristic at all.

Amazing Tour, Best Value for Money!
Dec. 2020 • Couples
This tour was incredible. It was only my partner and I so we were very lucky to be able to speak to Marcos and get up close to the wildlife. Marcos made sure we had the best experience and even picked up one of the frogs so we could take a photo and see it up close. The process from the fruit to the cup of hot chocolate takes much effort and care. The end result is just out of this world, but the thing that stood out for us was Marcos and his love for this planet and the living creatures on it. Thank you so much for this tour!

A treat!
Oct. 2020 • Couples
Omg what a treat! Because of the pandemic there weren't any other visitors, so we basically got a private tour from Marcos and it was phenomenal! He walked us around the plantation, showed different steps of the chocolate making process, treated us with exotic fruit along the way, shared insights about growing coco beans, and afterwards treated us to a cup of hot coco and a natural banana chocolate desert - unforgettable experience!! If you have a couple of hours in the area, highly recommend visiting this place!!

Unique tour

This was such a unique experience! The farm is beautiful, the fruit fresh, and the host passionate. I wished I had brought my camera. Also remember to bring cash and preferably sneakers! It’s covid friendly, too.
