Just amazing place. Hire a guide-in the mist difficult to spot highlights but the guides can. Went back in ourselves later and being trained up could then spot more. Very fragile ecology which seems to be changing rapidly- if you love wildlife and are keen then go. If you are just on the tourist run in Costa Rica and aren't... More

Walking in the clouds was awesome! Be prepared for mud. Took a taxi there from our hotel for $10 and the gift shop clerk called one for us to go back.

WOW!! Once you get a glimpse of the vast forest and the clouds that cast a haunting blanket over the tree top canopy, you know that you are witnessing a truly AMAZING natural wonder! As they only allow about 300 tourists into the forest at a time, we started our tour bright and early. Although the trails are easy to... More

We visited in March and had the most fantastic guide named Frasier who immediately found us a pair of resplendent quetzals seeking out nesting sites. We then walked on to get away from the crowds of coach people. We found a quiet trail and chanced upon another pair of quetzals and later yet another pair! I was astounded as I... More

Evidently, this March is the driest in 114 years in this area of Costa Rica, according to our guide. We spent hours in the cloud forest, yet only saw one black turkey. A bit disappointed as it took 2 hours to drive there.

We had a guide arranged through Anywhere Costa Rica from a local company called Trek Costa Rica. He was terrific. He had a great binocular thingy and he put our phone up to the eye piece so everyone in our small group (5) could see what he found. How he could find so many birds and animals is beyond me.... If we would like to know more about the delicate balance between man and his environment, look no further. This unique habitat gives you a chance to see migratory birds, all types of orchids, and unbelievable flora from the sub forest through the canopies. Take your time and walk to the waterfall, and definitely take a guide if you can... More

Took 3.5 hours to get to the place. Rough ride since some roads were narrow and not paved. Did not see much wildlife yet the suspended bridges and the canopy tour was breathtaking. A must see since when will you ever get to do something like this again?

It was a beautiful morning hike with help from a tour guide to see the sights. It was a little rainy, which was good for them as it was March and they needed it. We saw a Quetzal and Three Wattlers Bellbird! Gorgeous place, a must see.

Being above the cloud forest is the best way to see it. The guides were on it, the views were spectacular, watching monkey running around in the trees as you zip by-there's nothing much comparable!
