Wonderful place to take a cool swim on a hot day! Family of four (including an 8 & 9 year old) easily made the hike to the lower waterfall. We had initially planned to go further, but the kids loved the pool at the bottom of the first fall so much that we spent several hours there. Recommended to bring... More

We jumped from the little cliffs on the side =) Great hike up to the upper 2 levels. My husband jumped from the 40 foot waterfall on the 2nd level!

We really enjoyed our jeep drive and hike to these falls. Swimming by the falls was really enjoyable. The trail in was part scramble over rocks in the river so be prepared, but its not too difficult for most. We came by dirt road from the Barcelo in Tambor. There may be a way to get here on pavement too.... More

I stayed in Montezuma for three weeks and almost everyday i did the hike to the top of the third waterfall. It took me a while to get up the courage to jump the 15m plunge but once I did i felt great! Bring good shoes for the steep part of the hike and watch your stuff for theft. Also... More

A few of us walked from town to the falls and had a really enjoyable afternoon. There are three waterfalls, the higher ones accessible by either a staircase (with a $2 charge, although there was nobody collecting money the day I was there), or you can scramble the hillside (behind you as you look at the bottom falls). Once up... More

We were a bit confused as to whether we really seen three waterfalls. We believe the first falls were at the beginning and rather small. Walking further up and down the river and trail to the right we came to a real nice waterfall with a large area to swim in. We got direction from a local girl to climb... More

Excellent trek to the waterfalls which was made all the more enjoyable as it is free for everyone to enjoy unencumbered by guides, unwanted goods or services. Certainly worth taking the plunge in the cool waters at the base and to try and climb up under the waterfall a little ways. Be careful though, it's mighty slippery!

The walk is ok, if you have decent footwear. It might test people with limited mobility. The falls themselves were nice, not spectacular, but swimming under them was fun....

These water falls are touted as one of the main tourist attractions of Montezuma and are worth investigating. The track to them is somewhat difficult in places and you should come with suitable footwear, do not be fooled by some of the locals walking barefoot or in flip-flops. It takes about 20 mins to get there and the trek follows... More
