Such a beautiful theater and the tour guide spoke english for us. Approximately 45 minutes from beginning to end and only 12000 colones for two people. Afterwards a great drip coffee at the attached cafe was a treat to enjoy.

One of the prettiest buildings in the city. Stop by the cafe in the lobby for a delicious bite to eat, and take a tour of the inside for about $12.

The National Theatre is beautiful and has a lovely cafe with wonderful coffee drinks. The history of the theatre is also important to the history of Costa Rica and was made more interesting by the tour guides explanation.

I don’t recommend visiting San José , the city is dirty and chaotic. If you do , a must is the Teatro Nacional an historic beautiful building. The café is also very nice
