For me, as with all museums, art galleries etc. how you look at them depends to some degree on how much culture you can take in one go. After a couple of hours I am struggling to maintain my concentration and it starts to become...More

My husband and I came here on a Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, we got to enter free, because if we had to pay, we would've been upset since the museum is very underwhelming. While the pieces of Jade spread throughout the museum are somewhat interesting, the...More

This museum was an absolute delight! It is a must see, if one is into craftsmanship and design that is. I have visited quite a lot of museums in many different countries but this one is exceptional! Beautifully arranged and immensely well designed. It has...More

Well laid out for the visitor. Easy to navigate from one exhibit to the next and from one area to the next. Super great crafted pieces. History of early natives and uses of the various pieces is fully explained. Quite interesting museum.

Found the museum to be rather boring. Probably good if you're into this part of the local culture. If you are, there are many examples of jade carvings and related potter articles.

This very modern facility has a lot more to see than just jade. In fact, the jade artefacts seem to form only a small amount of what's on display. There is pottery, stoneware, statues, tools and in one gallery, some very modern art. It's well...More

This is a beautiful and newer museum with modern architecture. There are five (5) floors of art that represent Costa Rican culture. The museum is well thought out and organized. It was a nice little surprise.

Fantastic exhibition of precolombian history. Five floors building fully packed with precolombian ceramic, gold and jade objects. Very well presented with interactive possibilities for younger visitors. Good visual displays and good enough explanations to keep you informed and curious. Staff friendly and helpful.

Nice museum, though a bit spread out. The multiple floors and lack of signage made it a bit confusing as to where to go next. But, the pieces were interesting and we spent a good amount of time there. So, I would recommend this museum....More

Yes you may. They have a very small souvenir shop. I found the prices to be a bit high, but that seems to be standard at museums.
