Right downtown, under ground the gold museum is one of 3. Pay 1 price for all 3 ($31 USD Sept 2017) wonderful displays some interactive areas- entertaining for all ages. The collection is beautiful, the displays educational. Lots of security - as you can imagine....More

I had a wonderful time at the gold museum, I got the self guided headphones tour and enjoyed taking my time. There's more than just gold on display and the architecture alone was worth the trip.

So many beautifully made things. It is a gorgeous collection. I was very interested in the display on the whole process on how things are made. Even had some failed stuff as not everything can be perfect. A large place. Children may be bored stiff...More

The museum is in modern architecture style but there's a great collection of artifacts and detailed introduction to the history of a certain period of time. It's very cool and comfortable to visit inside the museum. The gift shop is lovely.

The museum is in the middle of town along a walkway closed to traffic. It's a really well done exhibition. It's been around for a long time but it's still cool.

From the outside, the museum is not very impressive as it looks like a parking garage. Once inside it gets better. The gold artifacts were beautifully displayed and all the interpretive signage was in both Spanish and English. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable...More

This is a very impressive museum located beneath the downtown area. Basically, you walk into a huge series of vaults that contain an amazing amount of pre-columbian gold artifacts. The pieces on display offer a visual history of the culture, and create a must see...More

About $6 per person - don't know the children's entry fee. There is a lot of "eye-candy" to catch a young child's attention. Gold really shines! Also, many of the sculptures and carved pieces are uniquely shaped and... More

I was there in August and as a tourist and not a Costa Rican the charge was $11 USD. Not sure if price went up or if the $ is better but there was no discount for tourists.
