This place has a free access and it's administration concern to the goverment (Tourism National Institute) and it is beautiful, good preservation, beautiful views of the mountains around. It has clean barthrooms and playground for children. The ruins are perfect to take nice pictures. This is a perfect place to a family pick nick day, although it's located in Cartago,... More

This is a nice place to go visit on a sunday with the family. On the way there you can also visit Mirador Ujarras. It's free entrance and you can't find food there, so you either take for a pic nic or go eat in a nearby restaurant.

I enjoyed seeing the oldest church in Costa Rica. It was built in 1735. Amazing that any of it is still standing. Was glad to have seen this historical site

Stopped here for about an hour, while doing some birding. The old building is beautiful and the park has nice flowers, trees, and a creek. There were local families with both old and young gathered together. If you are ever in the area, check it out.

We live very near the ruins, less than a 30 minute drive. We like to picnic here with friends. It is flat and we bring our volleyball net and frisbee which makes it even more enjoyable...seniors like to have fun too. It has swings and vendors to buy food from if you didn't pack a picnic. There are even a... More

This is a pretty spot on the Orosi Valley loop drive. The site is treed and nicely landscaped so was quite atmospheric. There are picnic benches if you bring a lunch.

Not an extensive installation by any measurement, but still interesting to view, particularly from waaay up above at the mirador site on the valley edge, where you also have lovely views of much of the Orosi to enjoy.

The ruins at Ujarras are very interesting to visit. The grounds are lovely and there are some giant trees that may be almost as old as the ruins. It is not "touristy". There is no gift shop, snack bar nor admission fee. There are some small towns nearby where you can find services. I'm not sure if bus service is... More

This is mainly a church ruin and as such interesting by itself. It should also be noted that the area where you find this ruin is very beautiful and well worth a trip by itself. You can find a number of good restaurants close by located on cafetales with a lot of specialities including coffee. Everything from ice cream to... More
