It is difficult to get to his fall because you must obtain hiking permit, get transportation to the starting point, avoid hiking during times of rainy weather, deal with heat and humidity, crossing a few portions of trail which have exposure, exercising extreme caution if checking out the natural pools above the waterfall, and being prepared for the potential of... There is a sign at the intersection where you usually turn right that the falls are closed, but we continued down the road until we reached the parking lot. You can see one of the falls from there, but the access over the bridge is closed, probably after a landslide. So don't take a taxi to get out there, it... More

This hike is moderately difficult, and just a short drive to the base from the center of town. Make a left at the bridge and climb up about 1 hour to reach the lookout of the waterfall. Bring mosquito repellent and water!

A short drive from the main road up to this beautiful waterfall, just a 5 min walk from the parking area. Quite high and falls into a beautiful clear pond at the bottom, where a nice stream pours out... A must visit in Tahiti.

Sometimes we older and out of shape creatures just have to push ourselves a bit and you are rewarded with something this good.

First, there's the hike. Expect it to be a rough, hot and humid wonderland of exotic flowers, trees, birds, and ferns Then, the pay-off - diving into the fresh, deep pool of spring water! It's INVIGORATING! Slide the natural tobaggan down to the second pool and you are literally on the edge of the waterfall. Awesome.

I have done this twice. Today was magnificent beautiful blue sky, last time it was raining. You need to be reasonably fit it hike to the top, we got up in about 1 hour and there was 8 of us fit group. The walk from the trail head is, I won't say boring but flat and well worn with most... More

Part of our tour, a must see! The waterfalls are all spectacular, and the grottos. When you are with a guide, like our Angele, you will see places that most people do not notice. She was knowledgable, professional, warm, fun and worth every dollar.

Thank Toni T
