We stayed at the Sofitel and we went there for snorkeling. Beautiful colors of water, colored fishes but you'd better use appropriate shoes. Few locals in the beach but it was week day. Maybe weekends are diferent.

Tamae Beach, Moorea There was No public bus, so we hired Rent a car to explore Moorea. Easy to drive because only one Circular road and nobody lost in this small Island. I was expecting tourist attraction signs a lot on the roadside but I...More

Beautiful, calm public beach, filled with locals, but not too crowded. Stunning water. I was there during the week, perhaps it's different on the weekend.

lovely swim but not really great snorkelling as there is little coral and the reef a good swim away. Niced views back to Tahiti and a pleasant spot though sadly too much plastic rubbish around...no where escapes this however

Public beaches on Moorea are few and far between. Temae is a lovely one: more a coral beach than a sandy one but still lovely and with some great snorkelling out towards the reef edge and towards the Sofitel resort. The current is strong through.

Supposed to be the best beach on the island....but it was dirty and not the least bit nice. Moorea just does not have great beaches....beautiful scenery but don't come for the each experience.

Don't be fooled by the beautiful white sand. When you get close to the beach it's all jagged coral sand. We sat on the grass and there were broken bottles all over, so be careful. The water was very warm which was nice.

We stayed at the Sofitel so we used this beach for a walk a time or two on our stay. I don't know if it's the best beach on Moorea, but it might be one of the best. Def need water shoes. The snorkeling to...More

There are only a couple public beaches on Moorea and this is the largest. Public access is a gravel road off the main road. We visited it while driving a scooter around the island, and the access road was very bumpy. On the day we...More

How do you pronounce the name of this beach? I recently saw it spelled Tema'e. Thank you!

Yes, the apostrophe means you pronounce the 'e' like a long a. Te-mah-ay.
