I look forward to fishing with Todd and AK Streamers several times each season. It's the people that make something special and Todd and Michelle are the best! Every trip, Todd has a good plan, is extremely well prepared and his boat and equipment are sparkling clean and first rate. This trip, I took two friends in search of some ocean fresh silver salmon. We enjoyed an early morning with Todd on the Kenai river. A morning of good fishing and conversation had us heading home with bright salmon fillets before lunch time.

I can’t speak highly enough about the two times ive been lucky enough to fish fish with Todd from AK Streamers. My first was in 2019 and we just finished up a second trip on the Kasilof. Both trips were well beyond expectations. I have already made plans to do another trip in 21 and am now going to try to stay with them in the lodging they provide. Cant wait to get back up and experience their wonderful hospitality!

If you want the best guide on the water then you need to book with Todd at Alaska Streamers. Our group of 5 out fished the other groups on the river, all because Todd put us on the fish. I can't wait to fish with Alaska Streamers again. Thanks Todd and Michelle for an awesome week of sockeye fishing!

Todd and Michelle will not disappoint. The service and accommodations are top notch. The experience and knowledge Todd has to offer make your trip so much more enjoyable. Todd and Michelle don't just treat you like a customer but as their friend. They help explain directions and attractions so you get the most out of your trip besides fishing. Even for experienced fisherman, salmon fishing is a new ball game. We absolutely loved our fishing expedition with Alaska Streamers! When I first called them and spoke to Michelle, her friendly demeanor reminded me a lot of how people treat one another in my native state of Texas. She was quick to answer all of my many questions as well as offer advice on where to stay and visit before our fishing trip.

After that simple phone call, we were booked for a guided fishing trip with Todd. The day before our trip, Michelle called and gave us precise directions for the boat launch where we would be meeting Todd for a full day of salmon fishing.

We arrived that morning before the sun rose and Todd was standing on the dock with his boat in the water, ready to begin our full day of fishing. Two minutes after we arrived, we were motoring downriver to one of Todd’s favorite fishing spots near a curve in the river.

Todd took the time to explain to all of us how the rods and reels worked, as well as proper fishing techniques and etiquette. While both my wife and I had grown up fishing, we hadn’t ever fished for salmon from a boat before, so it was wonderful to have Todd bring us up to speed so quickly.

As the sun began to rise, and eagles screeched from their nearby pine tree perches, we began to catch fish that were larger than I had ever caught before. We have big catfish in Texas, but I’ve never seen them get as large as some of these salmon! Each time we hooked one, Todd was quick to give guidance on reeling it in, as he deftly maneuvered the boat and grabbed a net all at the same time. Every fish-on moment felt like it should have been chaos to me, but Todd kept everything well under control.

The true mark of Todd’s expertise though, came when we began seeing other boats arrive on around us on the river. One, two, eventually six boats were in a line strung out at anchor above and below our position in the water, each full of our competition for the day’s catch. Todd stayed put though, and then something really impressive began to happen: the salmon started biting, but they were biting far more often at our boat than at any of the others around us.

Like a finely oiled machine, Todd was helping each of us reel in monster Silver Salmon, while at the same time swapping out baits, applying all manners of secret scents and oils to our lures, and making minute tweaks to our boat’s position to maximize our success.

At the end of the day, I can confidently say that of the 21 boats that were visible around our part of the river, we were the ones with the most fish when we stopped in the mid-afternoon. Todd was the reason for our success, and he is one heck of a fishing guide.

That evening as we arrived at our cabin with our cooler of fish filets, and I proceeded to pan sear the most delicious tasting fish I have ever consumed on this planet - which to be clear, the deliciousness has nothing to do with my mediocre cooking skills and everything to do with how gosh darn tasty Alaskan Salmon is - I sat and reflected on how booking a trip with Alaska streamers was worth every penny.

Now I just need to convince my wife to come up here with me during King Salmon season for another fishing adventure with Todd.

First heard about Todd Donahue when fishing two years ago with 12 members of our fly fishing club from Northern California. I specifically sought Alaska Streamers for our most recent trip to Alaska, with my brother and his family from Delaware. We trusted Todd to select the location and timing of our trip. Sockeye salmon fishing was excellent! Todd, and his assistant Cody, were very attentive and helpful. My brother's son-in-law, who had never fished before, limited out on Sockeye. Todd's wife, Michelle, is easy to contact and does all the scheduling.
