Reachable by hiking trail or four-wheel vehicle, Rarotonga's only fall is also known as Papua Waterfall, because water from the Papua stream spills down the cliff into a beautiful swimming hole.

We cycled to the waterfall, little hard to find the turnoff. Found we had gone past it by several hundred metres!! Pleasant ride and not too demanding. Like other reviews take you bug repellent, the biters are everywhere. There was no charge when we visited but I would pay the $2 for the privilege!

Only after a rain could you even remotely call this a waterfall and it was closed for swimming - and this was worth a $5.00 charge.????? Definitely not a must see.

This was one of the highlights for me, lovely waterfall and great for a swim and really scenic. Worth the entry free if you're charged it, I went as part of a tour so didn't have to pay however I hear there may be a cover charge of $5

Among the rest of the Cook Islands, Rarotonga is fortunate to have a natural source for drinking water (many recommend you boil it prior to drinking). The flow of Wigmore's waterfall, also known as Papua waterfall, is dependent on amount of rain. While not spectacular, there is an attendant who collects a fee for admission (I believe $3 per person... More

We swam here after a heavy rainfall in the morning. Water cooler than sea, obviously but still nice. Its shallow, then deep then shallow again near the waterfall. 5 bucks to go in there. Not worth it unless u go for a swim. So go for a swim!

Was in Raro recently with my hubby and did a buggy tour which took us through to the waterfall. It is pretty average... you can climb up onto the wall and jump off it into the water but overall it wasn't anything spectacular. You also have to pay to enter the vicinity.

The picture looked better. We stopped here after our hike and didn't spend more than 10 minutes if that. The water was sort of muddy brown and the entire area was covered with mosquitos. Don't get me wrong, I like waterfalls but I'm gonna have to pass on this one.
