Fantastic snorkelling

Safe, beautiful lagoon with masses of fish - just park up and walk into the water - no fuss, no reservations. Plonk a towel on the sand and off you go

The highlight of our trip was our stay in a rental property not too far from the Tikioki Marine Reserve. The snorkeling was excellent all week, and the fish very much plentiful. There are some coral breaks on the beach where you can enter the lagoon without difficulty near the Fruits of Rarotonga beach access. The water itself is generally... More

Of the three places that I explored (Aroa, Muri, Tikioki), this was the best place for snorkelling. Even without the snorkel, I saw fishes swimming in the shallows. Going deeper to the corals, there were colourful fishes, baby fishes darting in between the rocks, and spiky sea urchins. The lagoon cruise boats anchor there for snorkelling, so it's certainly a... Tikioki Marine Reserve, better known as Fruits of Rarotonga, is a great place to spend a couple of hours snorkeling. Tons of fish, sea urchins, blue starfish, clams, even a small eel or two. The current is not as strong here as it is in other places around the island, so it is an easy swim, even further out from... More

A great place to go for a FREE afternnon of snorkelling. Because this is a marine reserve, the fish are there in abundance. We had an amazing afternoon here despite the showers which were very warm! It is across the road from The Fruits of Rarotonga takeaways and there is plenty of room for parking and tables to sit at... More

Anywhere on Tikioki Beach is a fabulous place to snorkel. The fish are abundant, with the occasional eel, eagle ray, or turtle.

Located across the road from the 'Fruits of Rarotonga' bistro. Don't need to swim out far to find the marine life...it's all at your feet. Live marine ecosystem where you can teach the little ones of the different sea life or enjoy the colours of these natural beauties.

Take a look beneath the water - there's a whole new world. Here there are great schools of fish, numerous varieties and some lovely coral. Never crowded, and a beautiful beach to relax on and dry off!

An abundance of beautifully coloured fish. Delightful area for snorkelling, a little deeper than some other places, but not too deep - I didn't want to get out of the water!
