We did the Nelchina Glacier snow mobile from Eureka Road house tour on 3/18. Highly recommended. They know what they are doing. You can trust them. If you are fit and capable, you'll have fun in safety, but be patient, not everybody might be at your level and remote Alaska is not a place to take casually, so give Aaron... More

If you want an up-close experience with the glaciers, riding the snowmachines is a must! What an incredible experience. Our tour guides were Andy and Leah. Andy owns the business and his snowmachines (snowmobiles) are of high-quality (love the heated handles!) Andy has good communication and accommodated to the time we are available which we are truly grateful for. The... More

Even though, admittedly, our guide was not the most personable he was with out a doubt the most skilled at manoeuvring the very windy and difficult 20 mile river. He seemed to know this river like the back of his hand! A true outdoorsman with great skill and accuracy he had all the equipment and clothing needed to stay warm... More

Great tour to book for mini-thrill-seeker adventurers like my sons, and safety-first worry warts like Mommy-me. ;) My sons have done a couple indoor rock walls, but the indoor version totally and utterly pales in comparison to Alaska Backcountry Access's canyoneering and rappelling! ABA conveniently transported us from our hotel's lobby (Alyeska Resort) and geared us up. Before we reached... More

My family were coming to Alaska and trying to find something to do with a varying age range this was a perfect option (white water rafting) for all. My nephews(14-16) have never been white water rafting so this was definitely a good choice for a beginners course as it is a level 2-3. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable... More

Awesome experience! Views were incredible, snowmobiles excellent, glacier experience unique and Andy was a fantastic guide. We had access to snowmobiles within a range of handling and speed. Andy works with all types of experience and allowed my husband and I to reach top speeds and have fun playing around on them. Memorable experience that my husband and I highly... More

We went jet boating with Andy and it was so fun, even in the rain! We met up at 20 Mile Creek near Portage and geared up. Because it was rainy, they gave us fleece and an outer layer for our legs. We had that for our upper half, but could have borrowed that, too. We also got hats and... More

When I first signed up for the Canyoneering I was not 100% sure what to expect. I knew there would be some rappelling, but I was not prepared for the steepness of it, nor aware that there would be 3 instances of it. My husband and I are very much "in our box" most of the time and let me... More

Andy knows what he is doing and provides a great experience while keeping you safe! I learned so much about respecting the wilderness as well as about the area and the Alaska country. Andy is fun, informative, patent and knowledgeable! I will be using backcountry every time I go to Alaska. Highly recommend!

My wife an I were very skeptic about this tour..it costs about $300 and there weren't enough pictures to convince us to pull the trigger. But Andy uploaded a few pictures to his FB page and we decided to go ahead. Boy was that a good decision. It was one of the most unique experiences of our lives. Though it... More
