Steve and his staff are quite the characters and give you a great learning experience. Make reservations before you leave home as they keep the crowd small and intimate

Must make reservations for visit. So glad we went! Was like a hands on class regarding the wildlife exhibited and it was exceptional! Learned so much and the treatment of the animals was almost like having them in the wild. Guide was the best! The...More

We live in rural PA. I can see deer, bear and more by going a few miles from town. But this was different! The animals / actors are respected & almost at arms lenght. They're well taken care of & you relearn how important they...More

Amazing place to visit was one of the highlights of our trip! We were traveling with two girls ages 11 and 7 and they loved the animals!!! It was also wonderful to see how passionate the owners spoke about the animals!

Almost didn't go on this tour but SOOOOOO glad we did. Whenever we speak to our friends about our Alaskan experience we start with the highlight, Kroschel's sanctuary. There is a palpable love shown for these orphaned animals and a concern for their well being....More

Actually, you can put a carrot in your mouth and stick your face toward the moose who will then grab the carrot from your mouth, and possibly leave you with a nice wet nose from bumping his nose. Lots of interesting stories about the animals,...More

What led us to take this tour (aside from our love of animals and those who care for them) was a film entitled "Chasing the Phantom". It is about the elusive wolverine and how Steve Kroschel adopts and raises two orphaned wolverine kits. Needless to...More

The interaction with the animals is by far the best experience of my life. The knowledge and care of all the people involved with their care is evident.I highly recommend this tour!

This was certainly an up close view of the center's rehabitated animals including a wolf, bear, moose, hawk, reindeer, wolves and many others. Steve Kroschel is such an enthusiastic host that you can't help but have a great time. The visit instills in its visitors...More

Thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history of this place and learning about all the animals. It was obvious that the animals loved the people who worked here. We were able to pet a fox, feed reindeer, kiss a moose (feed it a carrot from your mouth...More

I would contact Kroeschel to set up an appointment and then do a car rental for the day. You can rent through the Captain motel. I believe the drive is under thirty miles and the roads are fine.
