Just visited the center as a cruise ship excursion. Even though it rained pretty much the whole time, it was very enjoyable and we got to see all the animals! Steve and Mario, I think that's his name, and daughters are very friendly and enthusiastic!...More

This is a fun and safe way to view Alaskan wildlife up-close. Entertaining, interesting, and beautiful scenic drive, too. This should definitely be part of your visit to Haines.

Loved every minute of the Kroschel Wildlife Center experience. And it's an EXPERIENCE! Steve and the team made the tour such a fun, informative, and relaxed time. They are hilarious and welcoming, and, still, very professional. Make time for this experience!

This place is great. Steve and Mario are very passionate about their great collection of critters. Very interactive and somewhat primitive. Great to see people like this are still around and haven't given way to the typical tourist approach. Worth the trip.

Kroschel and his falconeer colleague provided us with a wonderfully entertaining and informative understanding of the special animals that they adopted. A highlight of our trip to Alaska.

A very interesting visit, fun and moving, with passionate people, unusual animals, in the middle of nowhere, very interactive. Nice place. Stop at the hatchery on the way (packing co.).

A visit to the Wildlife Center was one of the excursions on our cruise. Steve and Mario are very entertaining to watch, though I could tell that some of it (particularly Steve's mannerisms) was show. Still, it was amazing to see the animals that they...More

Not too much. The tour is two hours in length and so you walk a maybe 30 feet and stop and rest on benches and then walk ten feet, twenty feet.. NOT a hike. We sometimes push people that are paraplegics ! Call ahead if you... More
