Cool place, well put together. Went in for the presentations during the bald eagle festival. Only complaint would be the giant pole in the presentation room that made seeing the screen really hard. Either way, really fun place to explore. Great to see the Eagles.

The American Bald Eagle Foundation Museum is just ok. I wish I could give it higher marks but don't be misled, it is just an average attraction. The museum is in Haines Alaska and it typifies what you would expect from a small town that is trying to make some bucks off of tourists. They can't afford a glorius tribute... More

Visited the museum to learn about the local eagle preserve and to get ideas for where to see and photograph eagles. Excellent source of info. Great display of mounted wildlife. Be sure and check winter hours which are much reduced after about Oct 1. Friendly outgoing staff.

The museum section is full of animals large and small that are shown in very lifelike stances. They have live raptors, bald eagles, owls, falcons and other birds who have been injured and are being rehabilitated or can't be released for their own protection. There is a tour run throughout the day which covers the basic birds on display.Very informative but not enough time is... I am so glad that I came upon this place and chose to stop in and pay the entry fee. Well worth it! It is important to know that the eagles here would not survive in the wild due to injuries, and this is a sanctuary for them. This is a unique experience for one to learn about eagles, their... Our ship docked in Haines and we literally walked the entire town and decided to stop in to see the eagles. It was very interesting to see all the animals and read little snippets about each one and then to be able to go see the two bald eagles live was really neat. Wish they hadn't been on the top... See the Eagle presentation while you are there...with 2 live bald eagles. There are also some good displays on a variety of things. Worth a quick stop, especially on a rainy day.

This was probably the most disappointing place we visited in Alaska. There was a handful of rescued birds in cages which seemed too small and there was poor permanent interpretation so it was necessary to join a tour to learn about the birds. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable but we came away feeling very sad

If you won't to know about wildlife in Alaska this is the place . We were pleasantly surprised at all the wildlife and sea life . We got to see a bald eagle up close . Stand next to a stuffed Grizzly Bear ( Brown Bear ) . It was a rainy cold day and it was a perfect day... More
