Worth the time to get there on our Princess cruise excursion out of Skagway- 45 minute ferry and 1/2 hour bus ride. The wide expanse of the easy flowing river with it's surrounding mountains was breathtaking. And this was done in early June when the...More

Have done a few rafts and found this to be both the most expensive and the most disappointing so far. The travel time quadruples the raft time and a lot of waiting time made this a 6.5 hour excursion for approx. 45 mins of rafting....More

We choose to take the bald eagle preserve boat tour as part of our on shore cruise boat excursion. It surpassed our expectations in the manner that this company managed our excursion. The bus driver that too us to and from the boat landing was...More

Wow!!! What can be more exciting and beautiful than seeing so many bald eagles! The late run of the salmon brought so many eagles to this area. You can also see other birds and ducks in this area. There are many stopping places for viewing...More

A fabulous place to view eagles, ducks, and swans. The gathering in winter can attract thousands of eagles ( and crowds of photographers and viewers.) A wonder of nature.

I went in December after the main congregation of eagles was over. There were still a lot of eagles in residence. To understand the area and it's ecological significance, you need to talk to a local guide or read "Where Eagles Gather" by Joe Ordonez...More

We arrived before the Eagles came in for the last salmon run but saw a few eagles in the area anyway. This location is incredibly scenic and I was amazed by the beauty. I would love to return someday to see the eagles at the...More

We rented a car and did a leisurely drive through the preserve, we probably saw 50-60 bald eagles from the road which travels by the river for some distance. Take your binoculars because eagles are everywhere, in all stages of life and they don't have...More

There will be some eagles in the area in July but the massive gathering of 4000+ is in late fall. Seeing the eagles from the water on a boat makes some sense but I have seen large numbers of eagles from pullouts along the... More

Hi We were there about midday early September 2015 and there was no problems seeing eagles. As the guide said, if you see a golfball in a tree in the distance, it's an eagle!
